This is somewhat of a dumb question, but how can I tell if I have ABS or not? I purchased a used VIBE and was told it had ABS. When I start the car, the ABS light does not come on.
If you are still unsure after that, you can always have a dealership check the VIN to determine what was the manufacturer installed options were. ABS is installed at the factory and this should be in the database, tied to the VIN.

Or you can check the Regular Production Option (RPO) Codes can tell you what your Vibe was equipped with when it left the factory. they can be found inside Glove box. You are looking for the code JL9 (GT) or JM4.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=6558

Until 2006, you got both ABS and the low pressure tire monitor system. If you have the little tire picture on a button next to your hatch release, you have ABS. If you lift the hood and see about 4 grey hoses stacked next to the passenger strut tower, you have ABS.

Besides... everyone should experience brake lock up at least once to know what can happen. And it wouldn't hurt anything more then take a few miles off your tires lol
