I remember another auto board thread recommending Warranty Direct
http://www.warrantydirect.comI got a quote from them once but decided to take my chances. If you get a quote, and don't bite, they often will followup by e-mail with a discount offer. At least in the old days one problem with manufactuer (GM etc.) extended warranties was they had a list of covered items, whereas with these other warranty plans there was just a list of exclusions. It was easier to understand the exclusions. Typical exlusions would be wear parts such as the clutch, brake pads, lights etc. My experience is limited to a Chrysler warranty - a motor mount needed replaced but alas motor mounts were not among the covered parts. From my observation the price they charge does not factor in the optional equipment. If I had a car with antilock brakes, a CD changer, stability control - perhaps the price of the warranty would make sense. Those things break and are expensive to have repaired.
