The rattle of bass

Post by McVibe »

So anyway, when I put on my bassy CD in my Vibe, there is the most god-awful rattle coming from the passenger door or maybe the glove box...But at anyrate, It is the most annoying thing ever! Any ideas or people with a similar problem?

Yes.... Back when I had a fully functional stock moon & tunes system, EVERY friggin' door panel rattled! Front more than anything else... Try pushing on the door panel when you've got some heavy bass going on and see if that helps.I know on the driver's side, I had to push my leg against the door panel and keep force on it to keep things from rattling. As far as resolving the rattles permanently, I dunno... But definitely don't use those door pockets for anything other than paper! That really sounds awful when you get some object in there rattling and buzzing about. Right now I just have the two front speakers and tweeters working, and they still rattle the door panels up front. I didn't know if I should try to insulate the door panels or what when I had them off... That may be something to investigate...I certainly feel your pain, this is pretty dang annoying!

I had that problem in my driverside door. Took it in and it was a loose panel in the door. Probably the same in your case as well.

I definitely need to rip mine apart again and do some rattle eradication next time I get a chance... Something's definitely loose in there...

In your case it is probably the entire door.
