But I've looked a couple websites, such as XS-engineering.com and turbo-kits.com and they have kits for the 2zz-ge engine...just wondering is anyone did any custom work so it could fit a GT/XRS.BTW...anyone know or can point me in the direction where i can find out when this Stafford kit will be available, specifically for the Vibe GT.

keep looking around this part of the furoms, youll find some useful knowledge, keep in mind if you do go throught with it our final gear(6th gear) has been snapping at about 280 wheel horse power, but A. theres a replacement now made for it thats stronger, and B. a safe 250 wheel horse power is still a hell of alot of power, with a estimated 14% power losse to tranny thats about the same as a company making a car that reads about 285 hp!! keep in mind we start with 157 wheel horse power on the GTs(180hp is to crank) blah blah!! anywaysim wimpping out of the turbo scene for now(no money,still warrenty, need car to replace if something goes wrong), so i salute you for your bravery if you get the chance to go through with it!
...Just gathering info. Im in the same situation as you Evanshall !! I dont have 5 grand to spend on the turbo, Ive got an extened warrenty id rather not void and I need my car everyday. But perhaps when our warrenties run out there might be a turbo that has been tried and tested for the GT..
Evanshall, Get your stuff strait. We give you good info and you spin it around. The final drive is a constant ratio that is always in use AFTER the 6th or any other gear including reverse. The correction is for those following this thread. Please check before you make statements. Opinions ar OK but bad facts are not. I'm no mechanic either but this is the easy stuff. Ask your dad, sounds like he could help you out.
Vibe GT, TRD springs, Progress bar, STB, Unichip, Borbet E 16x7.5, 225/50 Bridgestone RE750, beefed up grounds and battery bypass capacitors(had em laying around)
i defenetly talk to much, sorry about thati uderstand now, i deffenetly was wrong on that one, when i was reading through it i was ona time budget as well as i was in a welsh library being pressured off a computer(just got back from UK)i read 6 speed gear and 5 speed gear at from the one link and assumed final gear meant last gear in gearbox, not axle gear whatnot, eitherway they have a replacement for it

yah there hp resaulst were good, but a 14.7 1/4 mile is nothing special for something supposidly running 230 whp, especially when a celica owner got his 2zz celica to do 1/4mile in 13.7 with natraul asp and a high end tune up with Apexi power FCXS is ok, but it costs 2k more, and stratford is supposed to be able to weild higher numbers then 230 easily

yah but not that much, plus its got proper motor mounts, and drag radials(in reference to 13 seconand celica) and the apexi tuning allows the 2zz to go to redline at 8600, a 2800 pound S2000 can do(same wieght as GT, actually heavier then Base 5spd) can do high 13s, with about 40 less whp then what faultline and devlop are estimating they haveif i remember right jeff said he couldnt floor it until 15mph because he simply didnt have the traction(sorry if im wrong here, but i beleive he said that), if you took the time to set these cars up im almost sure you could get well into the 13s, especially if they are running about 230whp

I would say that measuring crank HP is pretty pointless though considering what touches the ground is the wheels so the hp at that point is more important.

It's good man I know I had no idea what the difference was about 6 months ago either.There is 3 main kinds of horsepower:-Crank horsepower (this is like the factory's came of what the horsepower is and is measured at the crank like you would think)-Brake horsepower (this is just some other measure of hp which is measure at the end of the drivetrain)-Wheel horsepower (this is the amount of hp that actually makes it from the engine and is put to the pavement which is what you get when you do dynos)*If I'm wrong just correct me but I believe that is the general basis for the different kinds of horsepower

It is about a GT (i have base) so wasnt really paying that much attention.
