Exact same here. Bought four new coils from a "reputable" seller on ebay just cause I thought it would be a good tuneup thing to do. They started failing within a few weeks, I got a couple replacements from the seller that also failed and ended up just putting the originals back in. But for a while I kept a code reader, spare coil and 1/4" drive ratchet with 10mm socket in the back of the car.
