oil dipstick tube o ring

Post by Fletch614 »

Hey, all, I am slowly assembling all the various gaskets and o rings to seal up the numerous oil leaks (seeps?) on my new '06 base Vibe with 215K. I have the valve cover gasket, timing chain tensioner o ring, vvt solenoid o ring, cam position sensor o ring and crank position sensor o ring but I can't seem to find a part code for the o ring that seals the oil dipstick tube to the block. Oil is obviously seeping out of there as it is wet all around where the disptick enters the block.

Does anyone have a correct part code for this o ring? (Assuming there has to be an o ring to make this seal...and Toyota sure seems to like to seal things with o rings!)

Thanks for any help.

I could not find a part number for Pontiac but this looks to be the one for the Matrix:

Dipstick. Ring. Oil. Tube. Engine.
Part Number: 9674119005

Here is the link I found from a dealership in Florida: https://parts.lakelandtoyota.com/p/TOYO ... =cvb_parts

But you should be able to search with it and find it local. Worst case, you could get a generic o ring set and use a small one to work.

The other option is to purchase a whole new dipstick but that doesn't seem worth it for just the o ring.

thank you for finding that. Are you sure that is for where the tube enters the block as opposed to the o ring that is on the actual dipstick? I have searched a bunch and the description always seems to leave some room for interpretation (?)

I am used to looking at exploded parts views on my motorcycles, which makes it easier to locate correct parts. Is there any go to site with exploded parts views of these cars? I've found a few but they are very difficult to search or navigate.

I think that link is for the o-ring that comes with the dipstick

On that same site, if you click the icons marked by the red arrows in this pic, it will pull up the exploded parts diagram, then expand the diagram by clicking on the "View Full Size" link

in that diag, looks like the O-ring you want is item number 11452B which maps to part number 9030112018

That's it!! Thank you! 90301-12018 called Engine Oil Dipstick Tube Seal.

I'm planning on changing that when I also have my intake off for the new intake gasket for easier access.

wanted to provide an update. The part I ordered 90301-12018 was not the correct part, it was too large. I'll post a pic of the new part and old o ring. New part is the larger ring on top. It sure looked like the correct part in the exploded parts view. (?) I ended up using an o ring from a collection that I have..hope it seals properly!

Also posting pic of gnarly old dipstick o ring.

not your fault! It's what the parts diagram showed. Easy job to do when the intake manifold is removed...but sure hope it doesn't leak, again. It would require removing (again) the manifold.
