I better be there ... that's less than an hour from my house.
I won't be able to attend on Sunday, but I'll do the rest.
See y'all there!

Russki- Sorry to get back to you late! We play a lot by ear...It's mostly been a stationary thing. As an example, we hung out at a museum one day last year for most of the day. Then the next day, those of us heading the same direction, did a cruise aka CaraVibe to Bowling Green to the Corvette Museum. I'm not sure how it will work this year as there isn't too much in or around Louisville car related to really cruise to, though we are hoping to incorporate that again this year. Please let us know if you have any suggestions.russki1990 wrote:will this be a cruise or just a stationary car meet?
The museums we've gone to were car related. In Nashville, we went to the Lane Motor Museum and toured it as a group. In Pontiac, IL, we've generally gone to the Pontiac-Oakland Museum. Most of these museums are okay letting our small group use their parking lot to meet up and hangout, though meeting up at a park is definitely an option.enfield577 wrote:If you all would like, I could try to find some place to meet, like a park or something, although I have to say I know next to nothing about Louisville, as I hardly ever go there. But I imagine I am the member who is located closest to this event.
FWIW, we didn't go anywhere "car related" in Indy in 2010. We did our usual Friday night dinner. Saturday we spent the day at a park and then did Saturday night dinner. Sunday morning everyone headed home. I'm totally fine with just hanging out at a park or something for the day.zbyers wrote:The museums we've gone to were car related. There just doesn't seem to be much in the way of car related activities in Louisville. We lived in Knox for 6 years and I consulted with my dad and he doesn't recollect anything really car related. His suggestion was maybe a Cara-Vibe to Mammoth Caves or a similar place for those interested.
Ian! Long time, no see! Definitely hope you can make it to Louisville!Dairgo wrote:Been away for a while...
Very interested in going to this.
Yes, we are considering Swope's. The temporary game plan is to try and go on base and visit the Patton Museum and then cruise down to E-Town to go to Swope's. I don't think Swope's is open on Sunday though so that part is very tenative. Nick should have more info this coming week on what's going to be going on this year.enfield577 wrote:AFAIK, the only car-related museum in the Louisville area is about 45 minutes south of the hotel. It's very popular locally./
Yeah, I'm aware of the sign in procedure. Though I am a military brat, I no longer have my ID so I have to go through it everytime I go on base when I follow my dad somewhere. I think if we get ahold of the base commander and the gate ahead of time, it shouldn't be too big of an issue.enfield577 wrote:Good thing is, they are working to open a gate right off 31-W so visitors won't actually go on-post to visit the museum. But I don't know if this will be open by early June or not. I will keep this updated here.
W T F I'm heading down Saturday morning. Should arrive by 1pm or so. Not sure where all are meeting up but I'll be there somewhere!vibenvy wrote:Unfortunately, my parents and I won't be able to make it to Louisville afterall .
