MAF sensor cleaning question

Post by basist4 »

I just changed the oil, and spray cleaned MAF sensor and TB butterfly.

before I was getting 28-31 MPG...after maintenance I have 25 mpg avg on 2 fill-ups.

do I need to pull a fuse to reset ecm or anything like that?
or do I just chalk it up to recent hot/humid weather here on the Gulf Coast?

Similar problem here. Once I bought my vibe with 132k miles, I changed the spark plugs, changed the PCV valve, Engine air filter, cabin air filter, and cleaned the MAF, and my MPG remained the same. I figured I'd at least get 1-2 MPG extra.

Disconnect your battery for 20-30 minutes to reset the ecm after you clean the MAF, then it can re-learn.
