Prius 16" Touring Wheels on GT

Post by davedyer »

Found a set of Prius wheels from 07 Touring.I like the way the color looks with the charcoal color GT. They're 16 X 6" offset +45. Next will be Pirelli P7 Cinturato All Season Plus Tires. The Pontiac caps are too big (the inner diameter). Going to look for an alternative from Pontiac or just use the Toyota caps.

Those actually look really good on there. I should keep an eye out for a winter set.

Nice, gives the Vibe a bit more aggressive look. Bonus the rim color blends with the Vibe.

Wheels look great! Is it just me though or do they look extra small, i.e. even smaller then OEM Vibe 16" wheels, to anyone else?

It's the wheel style. The spokes curve in at the edges giving them the appearance of looking smaller than what they really are. I've never liked that spoke style on a wheel once they're on the car for that reason.

Yes....I noticed that as well but all in all the most important things for me were color and weight. Perhaps next year I'll move up to 17's if I can find a nice set of gunmetal in that size.

How much do they weigh? I'm surprised that this is what's hiding under every Prius Touring's plastic wheel covers. Now I want some!

Are you serious? There can't really be hubcaps that can go over these? :D

Im curious about the weight savings over the standard 16" aluminum gt vibe wheel.

I don't think these are the same hubcap covered wheels you may be thinking of. I believe these were an option on the Prius Touring. Not sure, though.

Yup. Look carefully at the edges underneath the plastic wheelcover.

To protect the wheels from scrapes huh? Is this a first. A really nicely finished gunmetal wheel that accepts wheel covers?
Reminds me of the plastic slip covers my parents generation would cover their living room furniture with!

I have no clue why they cover them up, but they look very boring with them on.

According to the Toyota forums they add 2% to the gas mileage due to lower wind resistance.
