Engine Pic Question

Haven't seen that on my car, but I would guess you've got something leaking on that intake manifold tube.
Is it oily or dry?
If it turns out to not be an actual problem, maybe an overzealous oil change guy started cleaning, then got desecrated.

It's too even and location-specific to be anything spraying or leaking. Looks like someone just wiped it down.

It is an indication you need to clean up the remainder of the engine. ;)

Agreed that it seems a bit too even... If someone else changes your oil and they did a sloppy job, that's close to the filler so maybe they had a mess to clean up.

How's it look under the decorative cover?

LOL but a good thought. Oil fill is right there, did an oil jockey spill and wipe off the intake runner?

Yep...it's a hint. :) Oily rag works good for quick cleaning.
