What model are you looking at and what are the dimensions? What year is your Vibe?

Of the models I have seen so far, none would fit a 2005 Monsoon sub box. To get the hole big enough to mount the flange for the speaker, their would not be enough plastic left for proper mounting. Also the stock box is tuned (albeit poorly) to the 6.5" sub. Putting an 8" speaker in may change the characteristics in a bad way, mostly enclosure resonance. Also the 6.5" sub is threaded on the bottom to be screwed to the OEM sub box.

The stock 6.5" speaker is a dual voice coil design, so use the OEM amp, your 8" replacement would need to be dual voice coil, unless you planned on replacing the OEM amp.

I was considering this:

Instead, I enhanced the OEM sub and box to get rid of the mud. So far it works well, may not have low range of an 8", but I can now clearly feel the "hit" of the bass drum, where before it was more like a tap. Changing the head unit also helped, the OEM system had clear audio, but lacked adjustment to tune the system to the car. the EQ options of the new head unit got better results from the 6.5" sub.

I have a 2008 base vibe with toons.
"Pyle PLPW8D 8-Inch 800 Watt Dual 4 Ohm Subwoofer"
Black Steel Basket - 40 OZ Magnet
Non-Press Paper Cone - 400 Watts RMS / 800 Watts Max Power
Specially Treated Foam Surround - SPL: 89 dB
1.5'' 4 Layer Dual Voice Coil - Spring Loaded Push Down Speaker Terminals
Dual 4 Ohm Impedance - Dimensions: 8.2'' (Diameter) x 3.7'' (Depth)

Nothing great just something to use. I'm going to change the OEM amp to power this sub and 4 pioneer i mount 220w max. I saw a picture with an 8" sub in oem box ported. so was planing to do the same.

Its not impossible to fit the 8" in a Vibe Monsoon box, but to do it right will take a lot of planning and time. I had contemplated an 8" but realized it was going to take more time than I had available. Some things I was looking into before I stuck with the rehabing the existing box:
-Measure clearance between monsoon box and existing grill
-Add 1/2" or thicker MDF board to front of box, then cut out hole for new woofer (this does two things, bigger mounting surface to screw down woofer, and adds depth to monsoon box, which you may need to fit the extra depth of the woofer
-Calculate boxes new air capacity, and port accordingly (tape holes fill with water), I would suggest an adjustable port tube, so after you install you can open the access panel next to the monsoon box and adjust the port. The monsoon boxes odd shape makes it hard to calculate the exact port length.
-Pack the box with Acousta Stuff, to reduce resonance, the plastic box will "muddy" very easily under the new power,
-You will probably need a 12" or bigger speaker grill to replace the cargo areas monsoon grill. Added depth will also allow more speaker movement without hitting the grill.

If you decide to got for it, post pics. May consider trying something this winter, if time allows.

I did try to search for it, used the search bar with a ton a different combinations and just came up with 1 result with out that much info. I ended up buying a 6.5 subwoofer, going to see how that goes. Hope to see if it'll be easy to sell afterwards. Didn't want to make a box for a bigger sub, because i don't want to loss space in the back. thanks guys.
