What model are you looking at and what are the dimensions? What year is your Vibe?
Of the models I have seen so far, none would fit a 2005 Monsoon sub box. To get the hole big enough to mount the flange for the speaker, their would not be enough plastic left for proper mounting. Also the stock box is tuned (albeit poorly) to the 6.5" sub. Putting an 8" speaker in may change the characteristics in a bad way, mostly enclosure resonance. Also the 6.5" sub is threaded on the bottom to be screwed to the OEM sub box.
The stock 6.5" speaker is a dual voice coil design, so use the OEM amp, your 8" replacement would need to be dual voice coil, unless you planned on replacing the OEM amp.
I was considering this:

Instead, I enhanced the OEM sub and box to get rid of the mud. So far it works well, may not have low range of an 8", but I can now clearly feel the "hit" of the bass drum, where before it was more like a tap. Changing the head unit also helped, the OEM system had clear audio, but lacked adjustment to tune the system to the car. the EQ options of the new head unit got better results from the 6.5" sub.
