My 2002 Vibe with 96,000 miles has started a squeaking noise when I drive slowly out of the drive. When I speed up on the highway, the sound seems to quit.
What do you think is wrong with my Vibe?
I've never done that. Is there a procedure for checking wheel bearings?Chiadog wrote:Check your wheel bearings while you're at it!
I am unaware of a good SAFE procedure. For that reason I'll not be specific. I raise each wheel off the ground, one at a time, use a jack stand. Grab the wheel at 6 and12 clock positions. Try to wobble the bottom of wheel in-out, any noticeable play is A bad bearing or loose wheel, or ball joints. My other test is to spin-up each wheel, one at a time, and listen for bearing noise - works every time for me. CAUTION, SPINNING WHEELS ARE DANGEROUS. DO NOT SPIN FAST. KEEP ALL PEOPLE,KIDS,PETS, TOOLS, etc., AWAY. Safety first!joatmon wrote: I've never done that. Is there a procedure for checking wheel bearings?
