04 Vibe with 51000kms, auto. Runs very well with no codes, except that a bad growling/vibration has appeared only at idle when almost or completely stopped, in drive. Doesn't do it in neutral or reverse, or when at speed. I think it's a heat shield because of the intermittent clanging and squeaking near the firewall, but growling and solid vibration through the floorboard is something I've never experienced from just a loose shield... Any ideas? It appeared after I took the car for a test run on new wheels, and I stretched it's legs rpm-wise, something that never happens otherwise (wife's car)
Went under and found one part of the catalytic converter heat shield that was part of the convertor got loose and wedged itself between the convertor and the sway bar...
