Question on engine compatability

Post by Fialchar »

Hey guys, I'm pretty new here and had a question for anyone willing to help me out.I have a 2003 automatic vibe with a 2003 Toyota Corolla engine in it (Still a 130 hp VVT-i engine) and was wondering what S/C or T/C I should get, the corolla, or the vibe? Also, what system will give me better hp and torque, a S/C, or a T/C?Thanks for your help

if you still have the vibes ecu you have to get the vibe supercharger. a turbo wil give you more horsepower and torque at a higher rpm than a supercharger . biggest overall power increase =turbo and associated turbo lag, power is at 3500rpm and above. moderate power increase= supercharger but the power is availible at any rpm.
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!

The Vibe/Matrix/Corolla share the same VVT-i engine, but they have different ECU, that's why you have to buy the Vibe SC. The Toyota SC will fot your car, but the ECU are not compatible.

Thanks a lot man. I think I'll go with a S/C because I like the idea of the power always available, rather than just at hing end RPM's. Anybody know of manufacturers for a A/T Vibe S/C?

Anybody know of manufacturers for a A/T Vibe S/C?But the turbo makes more power My turbo kit works on 2003+ Vibe, Matrix, and Corrolla It cost around 3k+ http//www.staffordfabrication.com also it works on manual/auto..either one.I have to say again, that even though the sc makes boost at lower rpms, it makes its best power after 4k just like it does N/A...whether boosted or not, you will drive between 4-6k rpms to make good power, and this is where my car goes into warp speed....."Straight ahead, engage!"

Do celicas have the 1zz engine? If they do then I read a celica with a stock engine except for turbo making around 220 HP. If not 1zz engine on celica then it was a Matrix but pretty sure was a celica website i was in. Either way 220hp turbo instead of 170hp with the supercharger is way better. 220hp!! I think im starting to lean towards a turbo.

Well I went to their website and they do offer a turbo for the celica both for GT and GTS they have prices on them too. I registered on ther website but havent had time to look. I know the kit for Matrix xr is $3,299 and I think it was for 205HP.
