These seem to have some specialized sort of wiper blades with a lot of plastic instead of a metal frame. My factory ones lasted a long time and I think I want to get another set. What is the best place to buy these? Yes I know, the stealership, but I don't like the one where I bought my car. They didnt even know what kind of ATF the car takes, and always put 5W30 in it.
I'm glad you brought this topic up because I've been meaning to look into getting new OEM wiper blades for our Vibes before winter hits (they're still in good shape, but I figure if they're not too expensive, there's no time like the present!).I looked them up on GM Parts Direct. Here's what I found:The part number for the left (driver's side) wiper blade is: #19184578 and the part number for the right (passenger side) wiper blade is: #19184577. The GMPD price for both blades is: $7.14 each. The GM list price is: $11.67 each. You would actually be better off buying them at the dealer because GMPD automatically charges $12.95 for shipping no matter how small the order. If you got them at the dealer it would be $23.34 for both of them compared to $27.23 through GMPD. Also, if you're wondering, the part number for the rear wiper blade is: #88969934. The GMPD price is: $7.14 and the GM list price is: $11.67.Hope this helps.

This is why I want to replace ours now before they start leaving streaks.Quote, originally posted by ou.grizzly »Wonder what the price would be through a Toyota Dealer versus another dealer in Cali who gives 20% off and free shipping.TRD Sparks has the windshield wiper blades for $8.29 for the passenger side and $11.59 for the driver's side. They don't show anything for the rear wiper blade though. What dealer in California are you referring to?

Okay, dumb question... can you order parts from the website or do you have to call? I've tried clicking on everything on their page that comes up and I can't figure it out .

They are metal framed, they just have plastic fitted over the top to make it look like the beam type. I loved the OEM wipers, they lasted longer than the $50 I spent on the Bosch blades.

file014: the Michelin blades (found at Costco) work and fit very well. I only replaced the passenger's side because the OEM blade was torn. Even though the driver's side needs replacing, I won't do it until the winter is over. No sense in ruining a good blade when I can ruin the existing one with the snow, ice, and harsh chemicals yet to come.

I am very happy with the factory ones on the Vibes. My mom's was built on October 29, 2008 and was brought home May 23, 2009. Mine was built on November 17, 2008 and brought home April 11, 2009 and the wipers are still working great, no streaking, etc. on both of them. This week I am going to be ordering 6 blades (2 windshield wipers each and a 1 rear wiper blade each) from GMPartsCenter.net. I am also going to order the GM rear cargo security shade for my Vibe so I will get the free shipping ! GMPCN's prices are slightly higher than GM Parts Direct, but they offer free shipping on orders of $75.00 or more and their initial shipping is $3.00 cheaper than GMPD, so they end up being the same or slightly cheaper. Just a heads up for everyone .

Yeah, I know what ya mean ... my local GM service place (a Chevy dealer) just can't seem to get it in their heads that "5W20" means 5W20 ... NOT 5W30.I don't use them for anything but warranty work (and I'll think real hard about that, next time I need warranty or recall work). For routine work, I go to my old VW dealer. I haven't tried the local Toyota dealer, simply because I have friends at the VW dealer. It's crappy that there is no local place that used to be Pontiac.
Lots of good advise here on the wipers which will come in handy for me probably next year. Assuming they are just like a tire, the rubber will break down NO MATTER HOW MUCH USE they've had, and after 3 years max we'll all have to replace them. All of you guys are "guinea pigs" on parts buying and I have you to thank when I reach the milestones that you've already reached. My Vibe is almost "winter ready" and it will see heavy usage this winter I'm actually going to give it it's first oil change here in the next couple weeks (only @ 7200 miles so far)
For anyone that hasn't seen this post in the Exterior Forum yet... Windshield Wiper Blades 2009 & 2010 Part Numbers.I will be searching online for prices for the part numbers listed in that thread later tonight or tomorrow and I will be sure to post what I find. I will also call the local Toyota dealer and see what their prices are.

Thanks for posting those PNs, Carrie! I was at the local GM dealership today (my wife had some work done on the van) - this is the dealership I don't like - and I just asked them for their prices for these blades. The parts guy told me he would take off $3 each because I "did his work for him and looked the part numbers up." So thanks for my discount, Carrie! I may have to change my opinion of this dealership. They seem to have gotten rid of the yahoos who used to work there, including the old guy who worked the parts department, who was so slow I always nearly choked myself when dealing with him, trying to keep from blurting out "hey, turn your monitor around so I can see it, and I'll find those parts for you!"I was also favorably impressed with the service manager. At least he knows what a Vibe is! But I'm not quite ready yet to turn my Vibe over to them to do the gas pedal / floor mat recall.

It has been a long and somewhat annoying process, but I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
