You people! I leave the country for a week and this is what I get! No stealing *this* time, except for maybe your sweet LED message light setup My car will hopefully have the intake in that I just ordered, so there will be a little less "GT-Envy" lol.Very excited at the amount of '09s(/'10s?) coming, I can't wait to see everything you guys have done! I'm just nervous I won't even have time to detail the car first (I just had a dream about that actually, that I showed up with my car totally dirty cause I forgot about it lol, shows what's been on my mind lately).

Canopies are on sale this week at Sports Authority... I'm tempted.

According to my completely baseless computation... I'm guessing we'll have a 3-to-1 ratio of 1st and 1.5 gens to '09-'10. And if I did any research on the subject beyond peoples signatures, I'd be able to back that up...

Mike's Car Wash!http://www.mikescarwash.com/de...polisHover over #10 on the map. That has the vacuum bays and whatnot so you can wash your own vehicle. Plus, it's only two miles from the park! EDIT: Hover over the #10 on the map in the link above, not the Google map I provided below. I re-read after posting and thought that was confusing...

Aw, I've got love for you all, I just know that all the mods YOU guys did won't all work on my car and I want to get ideas! No worries, I've been loving the Vibe since '07 when I first heard of it, even though I didn't get one till '09.Quote, originally posted by tpollauf »Detail the car first ?????? My husband and I are going to have a car detailing party for ourselves- two days of fun, one for interior and one for exterior, the works: claybar, wax, everything on both of our cars. AND finding time for putting in the intake for mine. Oh by the way, also working and such. Also bought the caliper paint! Will I have time to do that before the meet? Highly doubtful at this point, as I have nothing to raise the car to remove the tires...Quote, originally posted by J_TO_ENVY »I can't wait until you get the intake installed. I'm gonna start detailing the vibe this week so I can take my time. I need to do some chip repair, clay, remove some hazing, polish, wax, I really need to give the engine some love, then on to the interior.BTW this will be my first long haul without a P.C.. I'm not sure I remember how to change CDs.

Not bad for a rough draft When finished add the color and send it out to all of us Then somebody should print up a banner to hang/fly at the Indy meet. Lots of other possibilities Just curious to date, how many members have provided you with their info for a car ID tag?

I'll likely change it no matter what the mileage is before the long trip Mine's had quite a few oil changes already (currently sitting at 13,515), but that's because at 2500 miles my dad and I decided we were going to change the oil every 2500 miles, rather than the suggested 5000. The filter is less than $5.00 from the Toyota dealer (I buy them 4 at a time) and a 5 gallon jug of Penzoil 5W 20 is just over $10.00 at Walmart, so an oil change only costs about $15.00. Also, it keeps with the 5000 mile interval, just adds new oil sooner which I highly doubt is going to hurt anything, plus it gives us the chance to check everything else (fluids, tires, etc.) over more often which again I highly doubt is going to hurt anything. Changing the oil on the GT couldn't be any easier. My dad says it's by far the easiest oil change he's ever seen on any vehicle .All I need to do besides clean the Vibe is check the fluids, tires. spare, etc. and it'll be all set to go.Quote, originally posted by ponta2147 »My car needs its second oil change right now, in fact (by miles, it's still too early by date, but I use this for the business car so we put lots of miles on it pretty quick). I'm wondering if I should have Chris bring the Glidecam with his Z7U and actually produce a legit video of this, wander around and get some sweet shots.I cleaned my mom's interior yesterday. Man was it nasty. It took me about two hours. It looks brand new again.I hope the weather holds out for the whole weekend. I would like to clean the Vibe Thursday night so it will hopefully stay relatively clean for the ride there and I won't need to do much cleaning out there in case it's hot.I really hope you get the intake on before the meet .Can't wait to see the calipers painted too. Hopefully you'll have those done before the next Chicagoland meet. I have jackstands from Walmart that I use all the time. They're fine. They're sold in pairs. Two would be enough. You could just do what I did and do two at a time; front and back on the same side or front and front, etc. After a few hours you can put the wheels back on and the paint is fully cured and you can drive the car after 24 hours.Hopefully the weather is nice so we can all just meet in Yorkville. That will be easy and convenient for everyone. Hopefully you guys get to enjoy the water park. Maybe someday they'll finally finish the indoor one they starting building a couple years ago in Sandwich .Quote, originally posted by audiovibe »I'm gonna start detailing the vibe this week so I can take my time. I can't wait to get it cleaned. Tomorrow I'm going to the Chevy dealer here in town to pickup the touch up spray paint to paint the plugs for the front license plate holes. I have everything to do it "right" this time. It's going to look so good without that darn plate on there. Laws be damned !Quote, originally posted by kostby »Teaser artwork (still a work in progress)Ignore the jaggies. Ok, intake and caliper paint are both arriving on the 8th. Intake is going on for sure, somehow, and we're seriously toying with getting some jacks for our cars and doing the two-and-two wheel thing for the calipers (on my car at least). We don't have any jacks at all and think we probably should. It's feasible I could get it all done before the meet plus a full detail.......

Man, this is getting really depressing. Everyone is finishing up on getting their rides ready and things installed and pretty much nothing that I wanted to finish, start, or touch up is going to happen At least I get to see everybody else's nice rides.

HAHA (no pun intended). I'd rather it not rain though. I'll still stay out there even if it does. I'll dry off eventually lol. Plus it's a lot easier for me to bring a towel, extra clothes and such.

I really hope I can finish getting my car cleaned up. I polished it but I am going to leave a spot so I can show yall how dirty the Vibe actually was. At the Chicago meet I thought it was clean little did I know.

Roll Call 7/6/10!

Post by jkm311 »

All line up for roll call!As of 6/23/10: Those who have expressed interest thus far are below, but as always, I am trying to keep the attendance as accurate as possible. Something tells me we might in a "land grab" situation (as far as parking spaces) in the shaded areas of Sahms. I would like to get a good count as to how many spaces we should be Bogarting! We are 11 days out. Any changes in interest? Smeadows: care to make that "definite maybe" an "absolutely?" Also, been a while since I have heard from Russiaville and lifes tuff. You two still in? And our "maybes" can we see you there? I know ramen has been trying to make it happen.EDIT: 7/7/10:jkm311tpollaufWolfman213ponta2147J_TO_ENVYKevzazRussiavillePsychoMartyraudiovibehouseofbugskotsbylifes tuffLavaIlliniVibeBlueCrushB14CK_H4WKHarleyQuinnMr Magoojackie879scherry2enfield577 ("maybe")midnightthunder89 (a "maybe")Kari (a "maybe")ColonelPanic (a "maybe")ramenboy... Mine will be cleaned this weekend... or next week . I am waiting until the last minute apparently . So, are you and I still meeting up in Sandwich and then meeting up with Michelle and Chris in Yorkville? We need to exchange numbers via PM so we can get ahold of each other if need be. I am going to message Tim on FB and see if he wants to meet up with us too or not.Quote, originally posted by jkm311 »All line up for roll call!As of 6/23/10: Those who have expressed interest thus far are below, but as always, I am trying to keep the attendance as accurate as possible. Anxiously counting down the days!Unfortunately a lot of the people on that list haven't posted here lately which kind of makes me think they won't show up, but let's hope I'm wrong .So... for those of us who will be arriving Friday evening/night, are we still wanting to do a Vibe dinner at Hooter's, BWW, etc.? Also, I was thinking perhaps after dinner we could do a short cruise? Just a thought. I was also thinking perhaps we could do a cruise Saturday evening before those who are heading back home leave. Again, just a though. I just think a line of Vibes cruising around would be totally awesome and make for a lot of stares and some great pictures !!!

Let's pick out a place and approximate time, probably after we roll in and wash our cars, so a late dinner like 7-8pm for whoever is in town and wants to show up?Just had the interior cleaned at Delta Sonic, their shampoos and vacuums are much more hardcore than mine... I'll go over the interior again myself when I do the full exterior, but I'm glad to pay them to do most of the "gruntwork" of getting the nasty bits cleaned inside.

I'll be getting mine ready this weekend.Sat: Oil change and Tire rotationSun: DetailingFound a local guy who will detail it for $40Quote »local detail guySo as of right now I am unemployed and bored. I am home everyday. I detail cars for fun. I am offering to detail the exterior and vacuum. I will wash using Meguiars car wash shampoo.I will clay bar using Meguiar's clay bar.I will wax using Meguiars NXT wax.I will clean your windows.I can remove light scratches per request. I will also vacuum your vehicle. This is strictly an "Exterior" detail job. I will vacuum, but not detail the interior. I am offering all of this for $40.00. Like I said earlier. I am not looking to make a ton of money, but all of this will take me a couple of hours to do. I will take drop off vehicles or you can stand and watch!A first ever detail for the Vibe. Can't wait.

I am thinking an approximate time might be hard. 7-8 will probably be pushing it for us Chicagoland Vibers. It's a 4 hour drive and don't forget the time change. We will most likely want to eat first and than detail the Vibes. I am hoping the weather holds out so I can wash mine Thursday after work so it hopefully won't take too much to get it clean out there. We shall see. I'm sure everyone will kind of just be hanging out in the parking lot when they arrive so it shouldn't be hard to find each other . Or, when we check in we could always tell them we're with GenVibe so they can let others know as they check in .Quote, originally posted by audiovibe »I am in deed!! Then the plan is, depending on the weather, to wash it and clean the interior next Thursday after work and get everything packed and ready to go for Friday after work.
