One of my two remotes for the door locks stopped working for my 2005 AWD Vibe. The battery is good in this remote. None of the buttons will do anything to the car.Do I have to replace it? Can I test it somehow? Thanks, Bert
Sorry to insult, but is the battery in correctly? They do have a + and a -The two sides are awfully similar and the battery CAN be inserted upside down.If it isn't this, I'll go with the post above, what unusual things happened to the FOB?Dave
This remote was not dropped into water or anything like that. It just stopped working.I tested the battery with a voltmeter. I also tested my other remote's battery with a volt meter. They both showed a little over 3 volts which are marked on the battery. I even tried switching the batteries between the remotes. No changes.I did not try reprogramming the remote because I do not know how. I was hoping that someone would post this procedure for me so I could try that. Thanks, Bert

I'll give the method for adding a remote, in the last link, a try tonight. If I were to use the method where you can program up to 4 remotes, would it matter which remote I started with? Also, is this doing anything to the key itself? Does the key have a chip in it?Thanks for the links, Bert
I went through the process for adding a remote. The car did respond to all of the key and door cycles by flashing the lights and lock/unlock the doors. But, it did not respond to the required button pushing on the remote. I guess something has fried in the remote. BTW, the other remote still works. Bert
Mine recently quit working as well. Thought it was the battery (it's the original battery from 8 years ago) but didn't work even with a new battery.. Haven't tried reprogramming yet.

Sorry to read about your remote not working. When I bought my Vibe used it did not have a remote. I bought one for a Toyota Matrix and programmed it myself for the Vibe and it works great. I even left it in my clothes and put it thru the washing machine once (duh) and it STILL worked. Here's where I got it: http://www.carandtruckremotes.com.
