Wanted: Pics of YOUR Short Ram intake!

I've seen a lot of the full CAIs being out there, but I am personally not interested in one of them. (So don't try changing my mind! )I'm looking for pictures of the AEM and K&N Typhoon short ram intakes in your Vibes (or 'Trixes) or even your home-made Short Ram intakes! So here's your chance, post away!

LOL!I have my own un-paid interpeter :DMy reasons for no CAI: Water - it's very wet here in Wisconsin when it is not dry.Ease of filter cleaning - I'm lazy at times, want this to be easy.Looks - Short Ram just looks so much cooler than CAI "Personal" mod ideas for Ram - Have ideas for personal construction projects that would help out the short ram - secrets for now, you'll have to see when I am done or just starting Supercharger - going to do some engine comparison shots, and if it looks like the only difference between placement of the throttle body for the Stock/SC vibe is just the angle, I'll just have to use a different rubber gasket thing to connect them together, w/o having to wait on new manufacturing ofparts.That should be it ... oh yea, should I ever change my mind, I just can purcahse the extension peice with K&N (when they make it) to turn my short-ram into a full CAI should I need to :DI think that covers it... a nice carbon fiber hood with a scoop on the front ala the GTR or other styles that aren't gaudy might work well with the short ram as well - so just keeping that option open. (What Nova did with his SLP and cut-down Injen)*whew* That's all folks ^_^

If you looked when you were at the Michigan meet i think it was Pablo who had a short ram on his Vibe. It looks nice. I have an '04 so that's my only way i can go.

Pablo....where'd ya get the AEM....does it only fit the GT? Anybody want to suggest a good alternative short ram? Geo....did you decide on one yet?

Got it from Adventon.com and I believe they will fit either the base or GT, but you'd have to order the one for your specific model. I bought the XRS since they only sell them for the Matrix and not the Vibe.

I am not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but if you really want the gains from an Injen CAI vs. drop in or RAI (not saying they don't work...I have no clue ), pay an extra $50 for their Heat Shield/Splash Guard. I'm not sure how much water you're talking about, but for those people that are worried about puddles and normal rain, this might be our answer. I'll buy it just for those instances. Based on their product description, it should also cut down air intake temps. in ram air applications (can anyone attest to this claim?):quote:The Injen Technology Heat Shield/Splash Guard air filter cover is made of polished aluminum for great looks and durability. Build a box around the short ram, have a 3-4" tube run from the bottom of the tube to the bumper area and have it ram cold air into the box for the short ram to pick up.I'm crazy, but if I can get it to work, it'll be awesome
