Has anyone else noticed that parts of their console appear to be discoloring? I thought at first it might be coffee stains, so I got some hot water and whatnot, but quickly realized it was not a stain at all, but an actual change in the color of the console plastic...I thought maybe it was a place where my plastic protectant (AKA armour all) wore off, but when i reapply, those areas still remain discolored. Is this a defect in my plastic? Is this a problem for anyone else?Is this something that would be covered under warranty? Here is just a small sample of what I'm referring to. You can see the areas circled are where i draw concerns, as they won't even absorb the armor all...

yeah mines like that . i thought it was because of the stuff i used to clean it even though the stuff says its safe for all plastic. but no matter what i put on it, plain water or even dry rags, it gets worse . i just dont touch it anymore. i hate cheap plastic interiors!!!!!!!!!!!
look my sniggies, i had a strizz-oke in my brizz-ain okay, you know what im saying. so i cant move all good. but thanks for mentioning that .thank you very much.athf4evr. click here! you know you want to!!!

Have you tried your dealer yet? I bet they'll replace it. I just had the silver dash part around my radio replaced because the silver was peeling off around the volume knob. That's more wear and tear than plastic discoloration. Maybe you should call and see what they say first, then try it. If they flat out tell you to screw off, would you replace it out-of-pocket anyway? If so, try the B2B. But if they tell you they'll replace it under warranty, then try it anyway and see what happens so you can tell the rest of us . The question is, will it happen on the next one? Maybe yours came out of a bad batch of plastic or something. Good luck though!
If you didn't, maybe your dealer used some chemical on it if your radio and console are both affected. Some of this plastic is pretty sensitive. Any other interior plastic problems? Anybody else with a Vibe from the same dealer with the problem?
I have never put anything on my dash or console excepet hot water because of the type of plastic, my buddys neon has the same plastic amor all relly looked bad if you miss spots or it wears off
my vibe from the dealer had a problem too. they used some chemicals to clean it and you can see drip marks and bad discoloration on the interior door panels. I was pissed but im not gonna spend my time going back i have no proof it was them theyll charge me for a new one.
Many of my interior parts are discoloured...the moulding process has to be the blame....I pointed them out shortly after I got the car...put them on record.....can`t blame me for wear and tear. Oh and by the way don`t stick one of hose deodorizer thingys in your vents, my wife did..and it leaked some juice...permanen t stain!!

they look kind of like little Glade Plug-ins. A little scented cartridge slides into a plastic cartridge and the cartridge cllips into the vent face. At least that is what I think he is talking about.
May have found a solution --whatever is staining my console seems to come off with GooGone. I was scratching at it with my nail, and something was coming off, which proved it wasn't a plastic discolouration, but in fact, some sorta junk just stuck to it...it was dark so I just wiped off some areas...will check tomorrow to see if it really cleaned it, or the cleaner juts temporarily "hid" it.Will follow up with details tomorrow...
