I am a Senior at Kettering University. It is a co-op school so I work 6 months out of the year at GM, and spend 6 months at school out of the year. I do it in 3 month rotations like this. School, work, school, work.

I work at a hospital for the Information Services department at the computer Help Desk. I take calls for computer problems and questions. We currently have around 3000 PCs and around 6000 users. Needless to say it can get quite busy. I have an A+ certification and a Microsoft Office 2000 Master certification as well. I am also currently working on getting a Windows 2000 Professional certification and an MCSE. Hopefully to go on to a Network Administrator.

I put my heart into my job. I work so hard, and try so hard, and I give people the same quality of service I would expect, and I still get nothing in return. It's different when you've been there, you know? Being on the receiving end now, I NEVER leave less than a $5 tip (even if the bill is under $5), and I usually leave 25%-30%...I guess I'm unusually generous.I used to work at Target. Before that, I'd have no problems picking up something on one side of the store, and then changing my mind elsewhere and dumping it. Now, I'll walk all the way back across the store to put something back where it belongs. I guess I'm a loser.

My degree says Biomedical Engineering, but my job is pretty much mechanical engineering. I'm a project engineer at a tier 1 automotive safety products supplier. Specifically, I design side curtain airbags. quote:I am a Senior at Kettering University. It is a co-op school so I work 6 months out of the year at GM, and spend 6 months at school out of the year. I know exactly what you mean. I am a restaurant manager at Romano's Macaroni Grill. Being in the restaurant industry, I know what servers, chefs (was the Executive Chef at the same restaurant), and everyone in the business goes through. Even if I get get bad service, I will still tip 15%. The only time I will tip less than that is if the service is HORRID. 25-30% is my usual as well. You should try Macaroni Grill if there is one in your area. Jim

Putting your heart into your work is the first step. It also seems like you are learning that actions have consequences, so you now put things back at a store instead of leaving it for others to do. Little steps, but important, nonetheless. Get that degreee and grab life by the, er, uh, (can I say cojones here?)...

I am a college student at the moment...a junior, double majoring in sociology and journalism. I am the copy editor for the school newspaper, and a reporting intern working in features and entertainment at the local paper in the summer. I hope to be able to get a full time job with them when I graduate. So, basically, I'm a journalist. So if you ever need a professional editing/writing opinion on something, I'm your woman.
