Driver seat track latching

Post by cq358 »

Does anybody have problem for the driver seat (front and back adjustment) latch is only catching one side instead of both side?

I've never had this problem, but my guess is that there's something wedged in the mechanism, or it's just gummed up. I'd say just unbolt the seat, pull it out, and take a look.

Both left and right craw never latch in the same time.. i need to yank the seat to make sure both tracks are latched in the correct position.

Neither the driver's seat or the passenger's seat latch at the same time on mine... I always have to scoot back and forth to make sure it latched on both sides..

Rock'er back and forth. If that doesn't work, a few quick accelerations and hard brakings will latch it for you!

Are you the original owner?I thought I'd mention that after I was rear ended, my seat tracks were damaged and had to be replaced. If you bought your Vibe used, it might have been in and accident before

mine is a 09 vibe.. original owner.no accident no bump no scuff. It might be the seat frame itself is made from thin galvanized steel. Sort of like the same material you would see from a chocolate tin cans. These material are thin and easy to stamp and those are part of the cost cutting initiative to save cost and weight. Cars in pre 2000 era have sturdier seat frame than the newer ones. It looks like it is a general problem for vibe that both seat tracks cannot to anchor the same time unless you yank the seat .
