Middle console

Post by ~MRVIBE2006~ »

I've heard people talk about a different middle console that you can get from the Toyota dealer. I have tried to look for it here (the part number that is) but for some reason can't find it. Anyone out there by chance know what that number is or point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

I think the one you are referring to is actually just a taller lid for the center console. Your best bet to find one is on ebay.

Thats what I'm looking for! I know that at one time there was a part number for it that you could go to your local Toyota dealership to purchase. I will look for it on eBay also.

I called Champion to ask them if it came in different colors and ran into a snag. That place won't do anything without a Toyota VIN. They can't look it up or even order it without the VIN. 1. Has anyone actually bought one of these from them? 2. Do you have a part #? 3.Does it come in different trim colors? 4. Can someone tell me how to find the color of my trim package? I believe the dealer told me it was charcoal. Does that sound right?I guess I could snag a VIN from a used Matrix ad on Vehix or the like and use that, but there again, not sure if the color would be the same. Thanks everyone in advance.

The price quoted is for the single lid that comes standard in the '05 - '08 Vibes and not what is shown. Here's more information on this subject: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id ... inumVibe08

Check in an auto recycler. There's a lot of Matrix/Vibes going there asking to be dismantled I found one only easily around here, real cheap and like new (with a bit of armor all on it It came from a 03 Matrix XRS. The color matched perfectly.

The trim code is on the sticker in the glove box. Only 2 options:14C - Dark Gray Cloth Seat Trim14I - Dark Gray Interior Trim82C - Medium Dark Gray Cloth Seat Trim82I - Medium Dark gray Interior TrimI had no luck with Champion Auto. They wouldn't help me at all unless I had a Toyota VIN.

Thanks Magoo, by golly I found it, there is a matrix of three figure codes, and it appears the last two set of three, out of about 46, are the ones. But how did you know that? Also, I looked on a website that said the two trim colors for 07 were black and slate. This one has the medium dark gray codes -- funny, it looked kinda black to me and I would have at least guess it was the dark gray. Confusing, don't you think? Thanks again, interested in any other input. In fact there are a few more parts I need. The little dealer I bought it from said they can get what I need for 20% discount from the dealer IF I get the parts numbers first, from the dealer. What I need--roof trim, left side, it is rubber/vinyl which appears to run all the way under the roof rack.--rear end cap for passenger side roof rack, the current one is held on with duct tape and I presume it is broken. I'd like to put things back to stock as much as possible.--one plastic "hinge pin"(?) on the center console lid is broken, making the lid very wobbly. this device has a screw through it, it and the one on the other side hold the lid and its "hinge" on to the console. The dealer couldn't find this on the parts diagram, weird. I am going to take the vehicle by there and have him look at it. If I have to buy the whole assembly, I might try to switch to the matrix double lid. Meanwhile, I am not sure if it is part number 13 on this page: http://www.trademotion.com/par...gid=2--I want to order stock OEM floormats too, might as well get the disount on those as well, right?OK please advise! ! ! Is there some other place to get those pesky part numbers?

I'm a little confused as to who you are buying this from. Is it Champion or a Pontiac or a Toyota dealer? If you can find someone with a shop manual I believe that all the part #'s are there. I have seen something like this on eBay for sale before. Just search Pontiac Vibe literature. There are single lid armrests on eBay regularly. I have a couple of more thoughts and comments about this. Number 1 is a comment as well as a question. It seems that all of the Vibe interiors I've seen (most online admittedly) even when the fabric (seats, carpet, headliner, door panels) is a different color, the dark parts of the dash and the middle console are always the same color. I would really like someone to confirm this or disprove it. This would help greatly in my search for a double arm rest. I have found a place online that has several and have seen pictures of the interiors of the cars they came from. The cars are split about 50% with one having the #14 interior color and the others with the #82 color. In the pictures the arm rests all look the same color. The sales person has been a little hesitant to commit to saying they look the same. I guess if I go with one that has the same trim # as my car I can't go wrong. I did have to do a little negotiating with the salvage yard because they only wanted to sell me the whole console. This made shipping huge. I talked them into simply removing the 2 screws and only sending the lid. I am going to order one this week. I would rather have a brand new one if I could get it settled with Champion.

I forgot to add something. I recently acquired a 2007 Full Line Pontiac sales book and in it is list all the specs and features for the 2007 model year. It list 3 choices, with pictures, for the interior colors, Cyber Cloth-Slate, Cyber Cloth-Graphite, and Alta Leather_Graphite. The Slate is a lighter colored gray than the Graphite. So, I'm assuming that means that Cyber Cloth-Slate is code #82 and Cyber Cloth-Graphite is #14 which is what I have.

The complexity amazes me.I went to the local Pontiac dealer today, the parts guy was really gracious and gave me the part numbers. The silly "F-hinge" for the armrest/lid costs $92! ! ! At that price I'd rather just get a double lid IF IF IF it also comes with the hinge. I may either call Pam's and ask specifically, or go to a local junkyard (but that's time-consuming).My lid is really so dark it looks like black to me, maybe that is "Graphite".I guess this is going to be a bit of a hobby!

OK an update:I got the tiny plastic piece of the hinge for ~$3 plus a few bucks shipping from Champion Toyota online. It is part number 13 on this pagehttp://www.trademotion.com/par...gid=2I also bought a rear cargo compartment carpet mat and the mats that velcro to the back of the rear seats, "laydown mats" they are called, by the ebay vendor.Let's see, I also ordered a rear end cap for one of the roof racks, and the rubber molding that goes from the front of the roof and under the roof rack (decorative mainly). I ordered those from GMPartsDirect and it was about half the price of the local dealer. And, just now I found from gmaccessoriesstore some carpet floor mats with the Vibe logo, again the set of four was about half the price of the local dealer.
