Morning folks,I've gone through all teh archives and tire threads but can not confirm one person that has run a 225/55R17 on their pre '09 Vibe.. I have a screaming deal on tires in that size but want to know if anyone has had this size and what they thought about them,,Thanks for the help, Cheers
It has just as much to do with the wheel offset in regard to rubbing as to the tire size. Best bet is to use the tire size calculator spreadsheet I made below and measure your current tire tightest fit point. You can then figure out if the larger tire still has room to fit.The 225/55 17 IS 7.0% larger than the stock size. Which will result in a 7% LOWER speed indication and mileage accumulation. You mpg relative to your trip odo will appear to have dropped by this same 7% though you gain a little back with the effectively 7% taller gear ratio.

It seems that the tire size that you have a great deal on is possibly too big for your application. Look and use the tire size calculator sticky at the beginning of this forum and calculate the size and you'll see that its 7% too big. You can also have the tire installer test fit the tires for you and if they fit with no clearance issues, then go for it. But I would shy away for a tire that too big regardless if your getting a good deal on them or not. Plus bigger tire equal lower MPG also.
