quote: Thanks to yank_dini for getting the information about the leather interior.Dummy me left the card over to my brother's house right after I left the meet. He already has leather he just wanted some trim. But he thought I gave it to him He has it I just have to go pick it up and then I will IM you....
quote:Yeah it was fun. didn't really talk with many but it was nice to see and learn about my 04 and the stupid fan that helps reduce emissions.. (grrrrr) no CAI for me. so i'll have to find a short ram intake You can't put CAI's on 04's?
quote:You can't put CAI's on 04's?From the looks of this new emissions-related air pump in the '04 GTs, no. There was a thread over at MatrixOwners a month ago that mentioned this issue as well. Upon closer inspection of an '04 GT at the meet, this pump is located almost exactly in the spot where the filter would be located on the CAI.Jeff Strausser said this was to reduce emissions and to bring the GT into a different emissions category, thus why the '04 GT is now rated at 173 HP vs. the 180 HP on the '03s. We did bring this to his attention about installation of a CAI and maybe we can get this addressed in the future (ie. movement of the pump to a non-invasive area). I'll try to dig up a pic of this new part.We were also told that removing this piece would throw a CEL as it's required to be monitored by the vehicle computer.
Great news!!! I called Joel the Sales Manager at Joseph Pontiac this morning and thanked him for having us. I also inquired about having another rally there next year and he said that would be great. He also said that now that he knows what to expect that he can make some different accomodations for us next time. So it looks like it will be at the same location next year. I will probably try to arrange it around the same date next year as well.

To get an idea I would like to know how many hours does it take to install. And then mutiply that by the standard labor rate. That would the price at the very least
From the conversation that Nick had with Jeff Strausser, they will have a set price within a few weeks for the supercharger with installation. As soon as Nick gets that, he will post it immediately. There is a lot of interest in the supercharger and GenVibe will be one of the first to report on a set price.

GIMMI! GIMMI! GIMMI! GIMMI! :DTriton: It was alsy great talking with you ^_^I am also so envious right now - discovered that those door handles that you got from Myself are priced at $17 each from the Toyota Dealership (as quoted from a post in MatrixOwners) I'll also say that after seeing your dash kit in person, I might have to go with something ... whee!
quote:Yup.. Now I know the foglights are the same. Now we can get that kit for ours. what kit? a fog light upgrade? I must have missed that conversation.

I had a blast at the Michigan meet as well. Yank, let me know when you get that Air Intake, and I'll swing out and help ya put it in if you still need me to. Nick, if you need me to talk to Jeff on any issues, let me know as he is a great friend of my family's and has been fixing my cars since I was 16. He also lives about 10 minutes away from me too. Hi Jeff if you're reading this.CohoCarl, thanks for the McDonalds, that was huge.In response to the supercharged Vibe... It did pull away from the no-mod GT, but I was definately able to smoke it from a red light. (3 of us went out to test run it against some GT's) It was fun to drive, but I don't like the Auto. I reached for the clutch with my left foot and almost slammed on the breaks. That would have been funny. Sorry I didn't stay for dinner, I could barely stand any longer as my foot was really starting to hurt. Also, I had a CCR concert to go to that night, and we had a blast. Great meet guys.
Aaron, you are my arch enemy...i got a cool shot of our vibes parked together....once Mike finishes editing the pics he'll post them. I had so much fun....it was the coolest thing to see that parking lot filled up with Vibes...everyone was so great and it made the trip worthwhile.

Ahh... I start to read through this thread and realize that Cathy made a post under my name a few pages back. Thats what I get for letting her use my laptop So here's my official response:WOW! That meet was worth the drive, the money, and the sunburn. I enjoyed it so much I swear I'd move to MI tomorrow. But seriously, I've been to a number of car meets and NEVER been so thoroughly impressed by how incredibly nice and friendly everyone was. It was a true joy and I hope we do it again soon. Thanks to everyone just for being there. Seeing that there are more of us nutjobs out there is a relief. I'd list all the people who impressed me, but all you have to do is look at the posts in this thread... its all of them. A pleasure for sure. Oh and thanks to John and Jon for cruising out there with us.Here are our pictures:http://www.mitro.net/vibe/030628meet.html The first page is from the meet itself and the 2nd page is of our convoy to MI and other shenanigans. Here is one of part of the group that made it to Applebee's: Thanks again for making us feel at home away from home.
Great pics mitro! I have the same sentiments about the meet as you do... and pretty much everyone else to were in attendance! I'm looking forward to the next meet, wherever that may be (hopefully the OH meet soon).

Nick, Just a quick correction to your front page article, they did allow some of us to drive the Supercharged Vibe. I was fortunate enough to have left my GM Id in my car, and they let me drive it, along with a few other GM employees

quote:Well, what's your impression of the SC? Sorry for the late reply, I was up north for all of last week. Anyhow, the supercharger was pretty quick. I have never driven a base model before, but it was pretty smooth. I would have liked a 5 speed though because it really didn't want to down shift when I punched it, but I would think that could be fixed with a chip or something right? Overall, I would get one for sure if they made one for the GT model (wishful thinking I know).
