IACV ( Intake Air Controll Valve) Help with removal

Post by LMK9232 »

I would like to know the size and type of the two screws which hold the IACV on to the throttle . The IACV is a black plastic sensor at the bottom of the trottle body. It looks like two aluminum screws. I was trying to remove and clean it to help the car's vibration, rough idling. I tried a torq bit T-15 which seemed to have some bite but it spun out . Looking to strip them both if I keep experimenting, if I haven't done so,already. I have an 2004 2 wheel drive Vibe. Has anyone taken this sensor off?

You have to get those screws off with a pair of needle nose vise grips. It's a PITA,but can be done. The screws on there now are a 5 sided torx type, which I couldn't find either.Have fun.

I had to do the VERY same thing to my Subaru, same deal with the aluminum screws, except mine were Phillips, making it even worse.... The impact driver got them out with NO swearing.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impact_driver
