I purchased my '04 Vibe about a month ago and couldn't be happier. The key fob battery was dead, so I replaced it. All the functions worked, but now I can't get the lift hatch to pop. I know I popped it with the remote before, but it doesn't seem to work anymore. The hatch opens using the dash button and the door locks operate from the remote just fine.I'm supposed to hold the "Hatch" button until it pops (about 2 seconds), right? Any ideas? Thanks,Phreon
mine is a '05 but I just push mine once (no holding) and it opens...I'm not really sure what to suggest other than maybe trying a different battery or going back to the dealer (assuming it's a pontiac dealer that you bought it from) and seeing if you can get a new fob since you kinda just purchased the car

Any ideas?Well, if you mean the glass, yes, you hold it. By the time i traded in my vibe, i had to hold it a good 3-4 seconds before it would go.If you mean the door itself, that does not pop, but it does unlock with the other doors. Thanks,Phreon
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
could have somehow glitched the programming when you put the new battery in. Like a safety reset mode. Take it to the dealer to have them reprogram it. They dont charge around here at least.
Are all of your doors unlocked? On my Matrix, I'm 99% sure that you have to unlock all doors first by pressing unlock twice within 5 seconds on the fob, then you will be able to get the rear glass to open using that function on the remote--I believe using the trick you mentioned. At least that seems to be the case on mine...and if that is the case, the Vibe should be exactly the same.
For my 03 vibe, I have to hold the button for 2-3 sec to open the hatch window. It does'nt matter if the doors are locked or not. Opening this window does'nt affect the other doors.I would try to reprogram it.

Maybe it just needs a "reminder" lol. Never hurts to try. Did you only get one FOB? I got two with mine.... but I think one was bought aftermarket kinda thing.
I reset the remote per the instructions given in the link in this thread and now the Hatch button on my remote works. My neighbor thinks I'm odd given the door closing performance, but the problem is solved. Thanks!Phreon
