Cant remove front rotors

Hi. I have a 2004 base Vibe and just purchased a set of drilled and slotted rotors with some EBC RedStuff pads. I was trying to remove the rotors and after banging on them repeatedly and taking the torch to them and banging some more I still couldn't remove them. It really does look like the hub and the rotor are one piece, I can't see a seam between the two and I was just wondering if anyone had seen an application where it was the same piece. I do have the repair manual and it shows it as two different pieces but maybe it is a pressed fit or something? Or if I have to take off the locking nut and remove the rotor/hub assembly how would I install the new ones? Is there some adapter plate you can buy?

I just changed my front rotors any they required considerable hammering. My uncle had to bust out the air tools.

using the hammer or rubber mallet if you dont wanna hurt your rotors is the best way to go as ajflan mentioned..guys at work hammer at cars all day cuz they rust up pretty quickly

Is there some adapter plate you can buy?Since you're replacing the rotors with new ones, I would soak the rotors with PB Blaster. Try to aim the stuff around the hubs. Then take a hammer and whack the crap out that rotor. If it still doesn't come off, soak it some more with PB Blaster and get a BIGGER HAMMER. It will eventually come off. Like the rest of us said, "Trust Us"!

and one thing..when you put the new rotors on..put some grease or something so they wont rust up as fast..or at all..and it'll come off alot easier in the future...not sure exactly what you'd use for this

I would clean as much of the rust off the hub as possible and then use some Anti-Seize Lubricant where the rotor comes in contact with the hub. This will make your life a little easier the NEXT time you attempt to remove the rotor.
