Do any of you hear the higher-pitched hum of the engine above 60mph?? It's very noticeable to me from 58-60 or so; it's as if it kicks into annoying-hum mode at that point. Do you think this is normal or based on the positioning of the engine? Thanks!

Is it the same on all road surfaces? It just sounds like the engine hitting a high note above 60 mph. I'm not sure about the tires. It IS from the front end... and I'm not sure about other surfaces because I don't go that speed on dirt roads or concrete, etc. It happens whenever I hit above that speed. Hmmmm...

I would have them take a look at it. But, some dealers charge for diagnostics if they find nothing wrong. Maybe one of the service techs could go for a ride along with you and then determine if it needs more diagnosis or if they tell you it is normal. Did this just start happening? or has it always done it?

i dont think those tires were supposed to be there in the first place.17's on a base vibe... was that an option?there is more to the tire story i think.even at 6700 miles if not rotated and are "cheaper" tires they can "feather" or "cup"- that will give a noise like thatmore noticable on the front cause thats where all the weight is.

Can't have those on there this winter, that's for sure. I started a tire change thread, too, and I'm trying to figure out what I should do without breaking the bank over this.

Mine does the same thing, not sure what speeds it is dominant. I usually drive with the radio on which masks the sound. It is definitly a power train derived noise as it stops when I let off the gas to coast. Tire noise would continue.
Yeah, mine stops when I let off the gas, too. That's why I thought it was an engine, related thing. Gets up there around 58-60 and above.
