Yes, you read correctly. I purchaced an 06 awd vibe on the 18th of this month and today it had to back to the dealer for a starting issue.Turns out the battery had a dead cell in it. It was replaced at no charge with a brand new AC Delco . Wish it was a "yellow top" Hope it dosen't happen again

Vibes have been known to have crappy batteries. Glad you got it replaced with out any problems.

My experiences have been that, on the large scale, ACDelco batteries are actually pretty reliable and trouble-free. I suspect (but have no evidence to support my argument that) the batteries being installed in the Vibe from the factory are outsourced from Toyota and are then getting a Delco label slapped on them. But the replacements being installed by dealers are the real deal ACD, so I am pretty confident you shouldn't have any issues with that new battery.I had unintentionally killed my battery on my G6 by listening to the radio with the engine off for about 6 hours straight...because I did not recharge the battery properly (using a trickle charger), the battery never held a charge and I jumped the car more times in a month then I could have ever imagined. But when the dealer put in a new ACD battery about 2 months ago, the problems went away. Not even a slight starting hesitation from my car since then.

Batteries have a HUGE warranty dollar tied to them. Often they are not properly charged from the plant and get "lot rot" as it is called. If yours had a bad cell then that was a manf issue. We sell a battery service center to prevent lot rot and re-condition batteries on new and used cars to cut down on their replacement. I have never had a bad experience with a Delco and my 2003 Vibe still has its original.Do not feel bad though! My New 2007 Compass needed a new clock spring when the radio steering wheel controls and horn acted up and then stopped working altogether! A defective part right as I left the lot.

not to get you worried...but some bells are ringing.when you say 'starting issues'...do you mean it takes more turnovers by the starter before the engine starts?does this happen when the car has only been off for a few minutes?i just know that i've had dealers 'solve' my problem before by taking the simplest solution...instead of really digging into the problem.as you'll see here: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=20641there is a 'starting problem' with many 06 vibes.i really hope a new battery solves your problem!
