You need to make sure it is for your same transmission set-up (i.e. auto or manual) or the ECM won't work and you may also need different brackets if it is for an auto and you have a manual. You wouldn't need to use an eManage unless the ECM is messed up or something is wrong or missing. The ECU's are the same. Check with Toyota or TRD to be sure.Oh, and WELCOME TO THE SITE!

Is it not just for the 5th injector? That is 1 of the problems, and yes, it is for the 5th injector. The other is you need an adapter plate b/c the Throttle is also different on the 05 and up Vibes. they changed from cable throttle to drive-by-wire throttles.

I know about the TB, I am debating between buying the kit from GM or TRD. The SC is about 1200 from TRD but what does it come with all the hardward to install, ie idler pulley, belt 5th inj ect....
the full SC kit should be like 2400 from a TRD site online, from TRD i think they are 2600. From GM the kit is like 3400. The kit has the SC, ecu, mounting stuff, everything for a install. the SC alone is just that and nothing else for that 1200.

I am asking about the gm or TRD piggyback is there a reason it will not work on an 05vibe/matrix/corolla? Has anyone tried to use the supplied piggyback? It looks like to get all of the hardward to install the SC you get the Piggyback ECU. It does not matter which kit you buy GM or TRD, you get the ECU, the TRD kit is cheaper which does not make sense.

Quote, originally posted by dpsbr »Why does GM and TRD say you cannot run a CAI? If that is your Vibe it looks like you have one.I do have one and you can use one, they just don't recoomend and won't warranty anything if you do use one. It can cause pinging if you don't use something like a water injection kit like I have.

Quote, originally posted by Lancer »The s/c runs the engine super pig rich (mostly from the 5th injector), it's not going to ping from just a cai.True, but from what I've heard it is best to use a W/I kit with a CAI on the S/C. Maybe just a safety precaution, who knows.

diff between 03 and 04...hmm it might be just the ECU difference. I know for going DBW dont you need a aftermarket ecu (unichip, hydra, etc.) and the adapter plate. but i havent actually seen one installed on the dbw yet.

Difference between auto/manual, ECM and brackets!
