Drove Vibe for first time, impression-handling/steering is fair-suggestions to improve?

Post by lexicon »

Drove the Stock automatic for the first time. Impression is that the steering responsiveness is somewhat slow. I am used to a Supra, what do you suggest to do to give you that improved tossability and responsiveness to the steering wheel? The only improvements I have read about are sway bars and springs. Will these make the car more nimble in terms of being able to turn wheel and get the car to respond more quickly?

also a strut tower brace will most probaly help it. but yes springs and swaybars will help with the steering response.

Sounds like what you really need is some steering gear with a quicker response - but I highly doubt a higher performance rack exists for this application. Mine drives crazy now, the rack is pretty screwed up - it's all over the place in the blink of an eye, I guess if you bought a Vibe we could trade rack and pinions. j/kYou can always go with a different tire, that could make all the difference in handling and steering response as many here have found.

I came to the Vibe from a land yacht, so the nimbleness and responsiveness of the Vibe steering were much better than what I had before.
