Has anyone thought to have the CF Hoods painted to match? that would solve all the hazzy problems and your hood wouldn't stand out like a sore thumb. I've never been a huge fan of the Carbon Fiber look. I love the contours these hoods have but don't like the color.

JSP just talked to me today and said they are sending someone to pick up my old hood and ship me a new one! I though about painting it if it came down to it, but I really want the CF look. I'm still thinking of some different ideas involving paint and this CF hood!

Yeah, what Damron said, you don't pay this much money for c/f just to hide it unless you were a hardcore racer in which the lesser amount of weight actually mattered more than the appearance. I was thining about painting just the sides of mine t match and living the middle c/f like a big stripe but I like it better plain like it is now...

BTW, these are NO lighter than the stock hoods! They are CF on top but have a fiberglass underside. And I have some "different" paint plans for mine!

how are they no lighter? the stock hood is made out of heavy aluminum I would think fiber glass is still lighter than that

Didn't feel any lighter to me, my bro-in-law, or my wife's cousin. I know the box showed 32lbs. What does the stock hood weigh?

I like the third one. That is what I wanted to do to mine but I like it how it is. I think you should do it!

I like those! Man, you're good! Not quite what I was thinking, but I do like #2. I may ask you to hook me up with some PS help with some ideas. Would you mind helping me out?

I like #2 and #3 a lot! that would deff look good on your car. At a meet in duluth last summer someone had their hood like that (not a vibe/matrix meet). looked cool.

When I pull the stock hood off in June I'll try to weigh it if someone doesn't do it before me since June is a while away still

I got an idea.Take this one and reverse the scheme. Have the black area silver and the silver black. Kinda like two strips on each side would be black. And another. Have everything up and around the edge of the vent silver, and the vent and up black.

WOW!!! we now know you have way too much time on your hands... you need to like do the tusday night chat session and teach us all how to do that... i just got photoshop on my pc yesterday... so im tyrin to learn how to chop stuff and paste rims on cars like most of the people on here like.then ill work on painted cladding and stuff.good work though... i ultimately like the all CF with the silver inlet piece.

i personaly like the reverse of that paint on a carbon fiber hood. i saw an RSX with the outside edges of the hood painted and the middle CF it looked very clean and i think thats what im going to try and acomplish if i can find and afford a CF hood.

Ha, I ALWAYS post pics! BTW, I fly out to Dallas the 6th! It only took a few days to get here last time, so unless you can get here earlier might be a while before you get to see it unless they plan a meet sooner.
