Installing roof rack bars

Post by arniep »

I just received a set of the roof rack bars from a group member. Would someone tell me how to install these on a 2005. It appears I must take the front black plastic caps off to allow the rails to slide in, but I don't see the way to do this. I took a hammer out of the equation early on! LOLThanks,Wayne

There is a few how-to's on this site. Just do a search and you'll find it.

Interestingly enough, the service manual says just remove the tightening screws and lift the rails out (or drop in). Needless to say, that is not possible.

Who writes those manuals anyway?!!! I'd like to have one of there here when I am working on a car!I found the guide on the site. Not too bad of a job, once you know what to pull hard on without breaking something.Wayne
