Gauges installed

Post by McVibe »

So I got around to installing my gauges today. I spent 7hours putting them in in 100 degree + weather. I actually enjoyed myself. I'm not sure how but it was fun. But anyway I tried to make my own gauge pod using fiberglass, lets just say it looked like a piece of crap with three eyes and shaped it into a pillar . Yea, so I removed the fiberglass and tommrow I'm going to hopefully cover the pillar in cloth or like foam and cloth. But anyway, I'll get some pics up. Also I have an issue that someone might be able to solve for me. My A/F ratio gauge looks like a cracked-out ADHD boy with sugar. The needle bounces all over the place when the car is just idoling.

I do recall seeing one on a GT at some point in time and it did bounce around a bit (but no too much) at idle.Where did you connect the sensor to?

I didn't really want to show any yet, it's very ugly because they're only installed and i havn't beautified them yet but here you go. I promise it will look better when I get some nice material on there, I would be cool to get rhino liner, but I don't think it's going to happen.

I'm interested in how you got the trim piece off. Can you post instructions on how you did that please?

Ponyota: which trim piece do you mean, I basically had the remove them all to do this.zionzr2: The Air/Fuel Ratio gauge obviously monitors the Air/fuel Mixture present in your exhaust which it then gives you a read out if you are running lean(more air than fuel) Stoich(Good Mixture of fuel and Air) or Rich(More fuel than air).

I would think that it's just clips that hold that piece on if I'm not mistaken.Inder

Yea, ragingfish is right, only you do have to pull up on it a little bit once you yank it, as it is stuck in the dash.
