I haven't seen an exact answer to this question, so I will ask myself.Does anyone know the towing limitations of the Vibe? For example, something light, perhaps a Jet-Ski trailer w/ Jet-Ski? Would that be a viable option to tow on a Vibe? Any other suggestions or examples?Anyone know the exact specs as stated in the manual for towing? Thanks!
Based off of posts from the edmunds town hall, I ordered my hitch from etrailer.com. Apparently the install is quite easy, and it's about $100 delivered. I called some local places, and etrailer was by far cheaper.
Well, nothing yet since it hasn't arrived .When I do have it all setup, most of it's use will be for my hitch mount bike rack. I also have a 4'x6' trailer, but I use it for storage, and don't really expect to tow it much.My Vibe has replaced a 1993 Honda Accord 4 door, and I was surprised how well that car towed. I hauled a fully loaded 6x8 trailer with the Honda from Illinois to Texas with no problems. The engine specs are similar between the 2 cars, but the Honda was a little longer and heavier, so I'm not expecting the Vibe to be any better than the Honda for towing, but hopefully almost as good. With towing in mind, I went for the automatic transmission on the Vibe.
Update: I recieved and installed the hitch today. It's very easy, just wrench in 6 bolts. I didn't wire it up yet, but that should be pretty easy too, patching the wires from the rear headlights. This experience is making me regret the fact that I had U-HAUL install the hitch on my last car .
quote:Hey VibeInTx, can you get a pic of what the hitch looks like on your Vibe? I would be interested. Here's my first try posting pics. With the reciever cover, without, and a closeup: [Modified by VibeInTx, 11:12 AM 7/20/2002]

quote:Wow, thanks for the pics! Was the Vibe ready for the hitch without any drilling, just some bolts and tada?Yep, that was it- bolts and tada. I jacked up the rear to do it, but in a pinch, that might not even be necessary.
