NEW ONE TIME Guarantee: For anyone that has bought my covers, I will now give you one (1) lens free lens replacement. If one, (1) not both is ever lost, one time during yoiur ownership just IM or email me. I have made well over 100+ sets of lenses now and my costs are covered to cover one, once for people for free. Plus my days are numbered since I am pretty sure the 2009 Vibe has plastic fog lamps...Again though, this is a one time, one cover only guarantee...I have decided to make and sell these and a couple of great members helped my decision too! My kit is a low cost answer to the dreaded cracked/broken glass fog lamp lens on our vehicles usually caused by rocks. They are plastic Lexan protectors 2.3mm thick, that adhere to the face of the fog lamp. The covers can be removed to clean and are not permanent mounts. The covers will not burn out bulbs; the heat can still dissipate. The prototype set on my car and the one used in the pics has been on the car for three and a half years now and through three Michigan winters. (updated 2-14-08) My fog lamps are on each and every time the headlamps come on as well. You can see pits already on the Lexan from the below prototype pic; means they are doing their job. The Lexan is crystal clear when new. NOTE: The lenses have gotten improved shape wise, since my pic below since those were the prototypes. I figured better to take a pic of a tested set then not... They have not been tested on HID bulbs. Each kit is hand made and made to order. Meaning you IM or email me, I make your set, email you back THAN you pay me and I ship. That way you do not pay me and wait and I do not get stuck with inventory. I can take Pay Pal, Cashiers Check or Money Order. Each 2 lens kit and detailed no tools required instructions sells for $25.00 USD TOTAL shipping INCLUDED (US or Canada)...FYI, one new Fog Lamp costs $140.00+ for our cars...Here is a pic of a clear set...
I've test fit mine, they look great, havn't installed them yet due to weather (wet and crappy). I wish you could make a shield for the whole front end...LOL

Quote, originally posted by Ponyota »Can you make them in smoke color like the overlays?I have not been able to locate smoked Lexan yet. However the overlays should stick to them and OR they may be able to be painted with translucent paint if lightly scuffed. Not sure though never tested it... Normal smoked plexi will surely crack and shatter though, I will keep searching for smoked Lexan.
Quote, originally posted by silverawd26 »Tool- They will fit the Matrix's, same foglight and I have to tell you first hand, this is a great idea. Thanks for the info and thanks for the compliment, I really appreciate it!!!!!
Here's a big for this product. I've had mine for a while now, and the fit great , the velcro shows very, very little, and they protect those $100 + fog lights perfectly. I've even forgot to take mine off at the no-touch carwash and they stayed on with no problems!!! If you haven't bought these yet, you sure will after you break your first fog lens!!Jeff ToddJackson, MI

Lexan sheet with its unique combination of high impact strength, flame retardants, and thermoformability makes it ideally suited for security applications. No other plastic can match Lexan's combination of light transmittance (clarity), and the ability to withstand extreme impact. In thicknesses of .125", Lexan 9034 sheet will transmit 86% of the light. Lexan 9034 is UV stabilized, has a heat deflection temperature of 270 degrees F at 264 PSI, and has a smoke density rating less than 75. If your thinking, "will this stuff hold up?" You better believe it will! My brother and I had lexan windows all the way around our drag car and never had it chip or crack. Another little tidbit of info is, you can polish out the scratches that can happen over time without turning the lens white with scuffs. I've done it to the drag cars front window twice and it looked like new. The only reason we had to do it was because of night racing and the lights that reflected within the spider web scratches that occur over time with washing and wiping. We didn't need the distraction and needed the clear view of the track ahead. If I remember right, there is a specific polish for lexan. MiVibe-ToolGuy, I've also learned that in addition to colorless (clear), Lexan 9034 is available in solar gray and bronze in thicknesses from .080" to .500". Though I'm not sure if you can get it in your local area or not.
Thanks Ponyota I appreciate that! I knew some of that but not all. Before I started selling I used a hammer and hit the Lexan just to see how it would react. No cracks or breakage, just dents and bending. I even took a lighter to it to observe its burning properties.

I'm actually taking mine to the OH meet to install again. I took them off to clean them, and decided to use a different kind of Velcro than I used the 1st time. (I ordered mine without any, so I could play with some of the newer stuff I had here)

EDIT 3/20/06: The only color I can do is:YellowThe price for a colored pair is $35.00 shipped. More steps are involved to make these over the clear as well as 4-5 coats of translucent paint. You forgot this pic Sam!
Quote, originally posted by heha »does the light get duller with the colored covers? those blue ones look awesome.Yes the color does dull a little bit... However the set pic'ed in blue has 4-5 coats of paint on them. 4-5 coats is more for "look" than function.I am in the process of sending a set with only 2-3 coats of blue on them. This should yield more usable light due to less paint used.Arcsvibe will probably post new pics with these covers when he receives them...At any rate I can do light or dark coverage of paint depending on what someone would want.I am doing a dark red pair now...
Here is something I found on ebay. Think my covers may be out of your price range, look at this.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWD1VBoth products have their pros and cons, however besides the price of $54.00 for the above, my lenses are 2.3mm thick. The ebay auction is 24mil thick compared to my 2.2MM. Mil & mm are two different measurements, mm being thicker. Not knocking these, just comparing...
