[POLL] 5-speed gear oil

Post by joatmon »

To be absolutely sure about the oil in my base 5 speed tranny, I want to change it out. The 2003 owners manual specifies the following for the manual transaxle:Quote »GM Goodwrench SyntheticManual Transmission Fluid(GM Part No. U.S. 12346190, inCanada 10953477 - 1 quart) orSAE 75W-90 GL-5 gear oil. What brand/weight/partnumber gear oil should I put in my transaxle?please add your recommendation if it's not listed. Thanks

Remember, the GM fluid is a synthetic, so if you go 75W-90 GL-5 gear oil, you have to go synthetic

If you wait a few weeks, I'll let you know how the SF MTL-R is. I've got some ready to go in. I voted above for the GM fluid. It's not what originally came in the car and actually shifts really well.
Vibe GT, TRD springs, Progress bar, STB, Unichip, Borbet E 16x7.5, 225/50 Bridgestone RE750, beefed up grounds and battery bypass capacitors(had em laying around)
