Opinions on AEM short Ram intake for Vibe GT

Post by robdog »

Anyone have opinion on the AEM short Ram intake. I know the CAI is better, but I have alot of problems with the one I have now. Is just gets filthy soooo fast, especially when it rains or snows. I am switching to the short ram and have heard alot of good things about AEM. If anyone has one please let me know how it is going...

Why not just cut your CAI short like I did?Injen CAI cut short:It works well. Probably not as good as a true CAI but it still sounds sweet. However, if I ever get the SLP Ram-air hood, I'll reinstall the factory air box to take advantage of the functional hood.

I agree with Nova. Why spend the money on a new one when you can cut the one you have.

I am selling my Injen CAI to a friend with a vibe gt as well. I wanted to try the AEM anyway to see the difference otherwise I would have just cut my old one. Thanks for the advice though...

does anyone know if the injen/AEM CAI will fit up to the factory supercharger (even with a little massaging)?

It's unknown at this time if the CAI's will work with the supercharger. I think they would but that's just a guess. We'll have to wait until the supercharger is actualy released to the public.More info:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id ... ad?id=2181

Cool. From the pics I've seen of the factory supercharger, it looks like it mounts in harly the same position, but I was curious about it's use of the factory airbox. A little fabrication work is not a big problem for me, so I'll probably slap an Injen on my base as soon as it arrives... thanks again.
