A cool math exercise...can you crack the equation?

First...1. Grab a calculator. (you won't be able to do this one in your head)2. Key in the first three digits of your phone number (NOT the area code)3. Multiply by 804. Add 15. Multiply by 2506. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number7. Add the last 4 digits of your phone number again.8. Subtract 2509. Divide number by 2Do you recognize the answer?Second...can you figure out why it works?

If you are supposed to get your phone number as a final number it did not work for meEDIT: Never mind i c what i did wrong hehehe

my mistake was i was adding the last 4 individualy instead of as 1 number
