I have a base, so I can't say for sure about the GT/XRS, but in the base, the engine/transmission/clutch are exactly the same between Vibe/Matrix/Corolla. I would bet a small piece of money that the clutch is exactly the same between a GT and an XRS. I imagine theres a weight difference between a celica and a Matrix/Vibe that might make a celica seem smoother, but I really wouldn't expect a difference between a GT and an XRS, as long as both were in approximately the same condition.

I think GM cheaped out on the GT stock clutch. I originally ordered a Matrix clutch for my GT, because nobody has the GT part listed, and the center diameter was too small.. So GM might've used a different part, y'know, for fun.

So in the end, what clutch did you end up with?
