Wow nelly, reading this brings up a question. The MAF sensor has to go in a certain way!? I have had a CEL since I installed my Injen CAI and never realized this was a possibile fault. I assumed it was in right, but the openining is shaved in a square and the MAF is in a triangular plastic piece, meaning it could go either way! What is the correct way for it to be facing?

A couple of years ago a guy made one with metal gas furnace pipes. I think it was on Genvibe. It looked REALLY bad but it may have worked a little. For the price of all the plastic fittings, clamps, glue and the time involved, you could buy a Cosmo.
damronjr, So the wires face the firewall. Polo, Locating the MAF isn't guess work. You'll likely make less power and run either lean or rich. not good for the motor. Is it worth the risk and time for 5 or 6 HP if you happen get it right? You will still make less power below 3K. If you want it to sound cool, just pull the stuff in front of the air box.
