Blah! (that's how I feel right now ) -- looks like a few parts they ordered last week came in late so it's up in the air whether or not it will be ready this week. I'm not going to be too optimistic. Anyway, that's the latest.

Well, today was a surprise. Got a call from the body shop, "it's done!". Got the Vibe back today, plus it was all clean as well. They had to touch up a couple places on the passenger door - they buffed out the door (fixing a couple pre-existing knicks too) as well as the hood. The hood looks a ton better (but wasn't damaged in the accident), as they also fixed up quite a few of the stone chips I had on the hood. The new front bumper is also pretty good looking too, replacing the many stone chips I also had there.Anyway, overall I'm still getting used to it again, but it looks like they did a great job.Attached is a pic of the Vibe back home. Thanks to all for listening to my weekly updates and moaning! I'll post a final conclusion in the next day or two.

Beautiful! I'll bet you're thrilled to have it back. Given the damage, that was actually not a bad turnaround.

Wow, I just caught this topic. Nick, I'm glad you weren't hurt in the ordeal. From your picture, it looks like they did a great job. Does it drive the same?

Fan-spanking-tastic dude!Looks great! How's it feel to have one headlight lens with a "cateract" and one that has 20/20?

I did get about an hour of driving in tonight, and on NE Ohio's wonderful roads, everything sounds and rides smoothly, as it did before the accident. I sure did miss the ride in the Vibe, that's for sure. Glad to have it back!Yeah, having one 20/20 headlamp and one with the wear marks does look wierd. I did have to re-aim the new headlamp as it was aimed down pretty good compared to the untouched headlamp. Once I can get a Silverstar bulb back in the new headlamp, things should look a little more even.

Ever since car manufacturers went to the plastic-type headlights, they darken and frost over in as little as one year. My Mustang headlights are so dim now, because of the fading and yellowing of the lens ... really a safety issue. All because of the UV intervention of the sun. Never had that problem with glass-type headlights. Oh well.

Meguiar's Sells a Professional Plastic Polishing Kit. I have used it to make a NEON look like it had new headlights! (Neons have the WORST headlights in the market about yellowing.)I use it about every 3 months on all the exterior lenses, keeps them clean, optically clear, and easier to clean the next time.
