im not a fan of the m style...seems useless imo..just takes up more engine spacewhat about a oneside scoop for a short ram or dual sided for symmetrysomething thats not everyday and average

A short-ram, maybe, but not this hood.On this note, I hate to inform everyone in this thread, but due to other priorities on the horizon I will have to withdraw from this group buy. Once the bodykit is painted and installed, the last mod I think I'll be doing will be a mid-gate spoiler, which I've yet to purchase. I committed to that long before this GB feeler went out, and I simply have other things in life to handle before I can drop $500 on a cosmetic feature (ahem...taxes, for one!)...regardless of how much I like/want it. I am very sorry PS: I forgot to mention that I MUST prepare for clutch failure within the next 6 months, now that I've hit 30k miles on my GT...sure, I HOPE it doesn't fail, but I don't want to be stuck with another OEM clutch. I am searching for an A/M clutch, and if/when my OE clutch goes out, I'll spend the extra cash to have it installed.

Thta's okay, I don't think this is getting anywhere anyways. It's hard to find a hood that EVERYONE wants and can buy on a whim like this. I guess if I had my priorities straight I would be paying bills instead of looking to buy hoods and buying other misc parts (i.e. spoilers, head units, amplifiers, new trucks, etc..) m Oh well, maybe someone will come out with one someday. We might be stuck with RKSport or an OEM CF from VIS!

I am interested. The m-style is cool or I like the ones on the lancer evo's that I have seen. Just my input.

Just my input. We need at least 10 people to go through with it, otherwise they won't build it. Guess it goes to show them that there really is no reason for them to build anything for the Vibe if they can't even get 10 people to buy a hood when there is practically nothing else available! Most of those who WERE interested were going for the M-style, but almost anything would be fine right now! Let's get some ideas and get something down. We had a few for the M-style, so if we can get a few more, between us and MO, maybe we can get this going! If you have ideas throw them out there.

I was trying to find a pic of one of the evo's I saw. It was in the January issue of Modified mag, i think. I agree, if we can't get 10 people here to sign up for one, then it is easy to see why the major manufacturers wont make them. I put in a few suggestions to different companies, like carbon by design and so far bubkis, even mention this site.

Come on guys and gals, this is the only way we can get custom parts. I would love to see a big group buy for this. Until the industry sees a demand, this is likely our only shot at getting some cool stuff.

Yeah I hate seeing one go out the window as well. I make $5.75 an hour and only work like 16 hours a week so it is exceptionaly hard for me PLUS I have to lie to my mother about the cost. She gets so pissed when I spend my money on the car. I'll tell her it only costs about $200 I'll try real hard to save and get a second job.

I am thinking about it. I am just concerned about the water from rain and snow running off into the engine compartment onto the fan and the fan spraying the water everywhere. I kind of like a clean engine bay. So right now I am a maybe.P.S. - Is there a benefit performance wise of the M-style hood over the ram-air style hood?

If you have a short ram intake with a FUNCTIONAL ram air hood, then that would be much more productive than a vent-style m hood. The M-style hood acts as more of a vent to pull hot air from the engine bay out, which, I suppose, would in turn, probably cause more colder outside air to be sucked in and cool the engine bay temp some. The carbon fiber is lighter which is better too.

wow Damronjr you said it.. plus with the engine venting all that nasty nasty heat it helps cooler.. the ram air style hood will force air to the short ram but the enginebay is still hot thus heating up the pipe for the short ram so possible gains and then again possible not.. it really depends on how you have your intake setup and how fast you drive your car.. etc.. anyways.... its a CF hood which is lighter and also displaces heat better.. ***(working on getting us and engine cover too)****

ok when we have 2 more people i will start the official group buy which i figure will last 2 weeks to give everyone a chance to put the $50 down.. so if i get it started by friday your looking 2 weeks til the $50 is due.. then after that your looking at about a month before the rest of the money is due.. so about the 3rd week in march and then the parts will start shipping out.. it will be on a first pay first ship basis.. so you have almost 2 months to get the cash..

Does that include the blue carbon fiber hood with the vents ? Whats the exact price on that if different from the black carbon. I wouldn't mind having the Vibe, Matrix XR, and Celica GT blue carbon fiber engine cover to match the hood. Just an idea. But I think it would be SWEEEEEEEET. Holla back at me.

The parts will be done by the 3rd week in March? Wow that's fast.I'm thinking really hard on this...My heads starting to hurt! I can't exactly hide a hood form my mom! My dad and my friend Mike would probably let me borrow money if I needed to but I just need to think of something to tell my mom!!! Help me think of something! She wont let me get my Tein S-Techs until she talks to her "car friends" to see what they think and if they tell her it's ok, than she will let me. If only I could get a hold of them somehow Now do you think I should get natural carbon fiber or the silver? What's the silver look like?
