I'm a new Vibe owner, 1 week as of yesterday, and I love my GT. It's a 2003 and is great fun to drive. But enough is never enough. I'mm looking at K&N, Injen and Bomz intake systems. Does installing one these have any factory warranty implications?

No, there are no warranty implications, there is a federal act that allows aftermarket bolt-on products without voiding the warranty. If you go to injen's website they have it posted. Good Luck! Enjoy your GT.

Welcome to the forums . Well, depends on how much of your warranty is left. I mean, if you're really concerned about your warranty being voided, I would just recommend getting a K&N filter for now just to be on the safe side. And when your warranty is up, get whatever performance parts you want. But if you don't have much warranty left anyways, I would just recommend getting the Injen. It's not going to hurt your car in any way. So, I would say go for it.

Put on a CAI and if you need warranty work done and your worried about it, put the airbox back on before you bring it in. It only takes about an hour. You'll feel and hear the power gain.

Welcome to the Encyclopedia of Vibe!Yeah, it seems that the Mass Air Flow thingie goes south shortly after a lot of CAI installs. Mere coincidence or evil plot by GM/Toyota?
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
I think it has to do with a volt spike in the system maybe... Next time I'll keep it disconnected when I install the battery, then hook it up afterwards. Its just really weird...

after i put on the cosmo intake, if i dont let the car warm up for about 5-10 minutes then it will never rev past 4500. but after a few minutes it will go the full 6200 or however far it goes. im not sure if it has to do with the MAF sensor..but does this happen to anyone else?
That rev limiter kickc in so you don't melt the motor together. We have an aluminum block, so if it heats up too fast then the motor can melt together. That rev limiter has been there even before you do any mods to it. So, yeah, that's perfectly normal.Inder

must be a vibe thing cause the celicas don't have a problem with the maf. we have found that it gets dirty and can cause some minor issues over time. but al you have to do is remove it, spray a lil cleaner and it's back to new.

The often MAFs go south because they get a light coating of oil from the filters. Don't over oil and let them sit out for a day before installation. If it happens, pull the MAF and spray it clean with some carb cleaner. You probably don't need the dealer. It happened to me with a new drop in and it cleaned right up. It never happened again but I decided to sell the filter after a few thousand miles. If you get a CAI, you'll have less power below 3k or a bit higher on the GT and gain alot at the top.

Enjoy your GT.Not ENTIRELY true. They can't void your warranty just for having installed the intake. But if somehow, they can prove, damage was caused as a result of that add-on product, then yes, they can deny you warranty coverage. For example. Let's say there was a hole in your intake filter you weren't aware of. Somehow, a small pebble gets into that, and goes into your engine, and "blows it up." You, my friend, are SOL, because that product was (A) not GM approved and (B) was at fault when that stone got sucked in.However, if, let's say, your power window motor stops working. They can't tell you your warranty is null and void just because of the intake. The problem has to be proven to be a direct result of that modification.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
