Cute Marketing Scheme

Post by ragingfish »

Received what I thought was a wedding invitation in the mail the other day. Couldn't figure out who I knew in Georgia that was getting married...Opened it up, and this is what I had: Very entertaining...corny...but probably effective!

Yep I have AT&T and notice the change last month when I walked in the store to check out phones and there were Cingular posters all over. Even the employees were wearing Cingular shirts.

I got one of those...right after I got this huge catalog-like mailer talking about the merger. Personnally, I think it was a waste of money. It offered no new information and didn't impress me one iota. I wish I could have a refund for the cost of one of these things. The merger's supposed to realize savings by reducing cost. What...did some marketing guy/gal fear that they were going to lose their budget and instead decided to blow it all on this? Sheesh.

I'm a huge texter, and I feel that's insanity! I can't fathom how any carrier charges for incoming text messages...AWS always made them free...and I just pay a $5 for 100 outgoing...But then again, AT&T's spotty coverage around my house (9 out of 10 times my phone locks onto a cingular tower before an AWS tower) makes me wanna ditch AWS fast...plus my phone has been nothing short of a nightmare...Does anyone know if Orange would charge me an activation fee to migrate to one of their plans?
