Injen CAI intake vs. K & N Typhoon intake kit

Post by Triton »

Anyone have any info on which is better? There is a price difference. The Injen intake runs about $264 and the K & N Typhoon is $227. I know that with the K & N you get one of their million mile filters. I'm not sure what the Injen kit has for a filter.Anyone have a preferrence or recommendation?

Aren't those dynos between the INGEN and AEM CAI's?! Long story short, the K&N Typhoon is a short-ram, NOT a CAI. The INJEN is a CAI and can be acquired cheaper, so the only reason to get the Typhoon is for the pretty colors. The INJEN will get the car cooler air, giving the engine more power.

I have a couple of questions for you Flip-Side.Do you know if it is difficult to get replacement filters for the Injen or how often you need to replace them?Do you purchase one that fits a Matrix XRS for a Vibe GT?Can you leave the Injen CAI on all year around? Winter in Michigan can suck sometimes. Thanks!
