Can we increase the font size in the forums...

Post by SBC31 »

They are way too freakin' small...Plus the ability to delete a thread you started by accident would be nice.

Also, if you have a mouse with a scroll wheel, hold CTRL and scroll up to decrease the font size and down to increase it.

Someone else suggested that before along with different themes to use within your Personal Profile. I will work on getting a new profile together that will include larger font sizes for the forum. Stay tuned.Related: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=10859

The style that genvibe pages are rendered with defines the font size. If you "view source" for a thread, you can see the entryBODY, TD, INPUT, TEXTAREA, SELECT { font-family: Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, Sans-Serif; font-size: 10px; }My guess is that this forces the text to be size 10, overriding local browser setting.Easiest solution is -> Use Netscape instead of IE, it will let you override the font size definition of the page here is a quick screen grab of the same page with both netscape and IE set to display text size as the largest possible. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerofile/4108/ns-ie.jpg

I use Mozilla for browsing, and changed the minimum foint size to 16, thus making it better then the default one for this site.

My Profile - located at the top of each forum page2. User Options3. The fourth item down, Style Scheme, will let you select the default (GenVibe) or larger font size (GenVibe-Larger Font Size) schemes. If you find any problems with the new scheme, please let me know. Also note, if you decide to use the new larger font size scheme, be aware that the Instant Messaging window will remain at default font sizes in order to maintain aesthetic appearances.Enjoy!

Weird. Just for kicks I tried switching to the different scheme to see how it looked, and I would click save, and as soon as I navigate away from the options page, it would revert back to normal.

I was talking to millster last night about this issue. Appears to be if you're using a browser other than IE, make sure you don't have any other sessions (Tabs) open. It seems the other windows may conflict with the style settings that GVC uses. Try that, if not, millster may be able to clarify more.
