Popping noise in 03' AWD Vibe...

Anyone else notice this, when taking off from dead stop, about 50% of the time I hear a "pop" from what seems like just behind the drivers seat...Ideas?

I haven't heard anything like that in my base 5 speed, and can't imagine what it might be. I have heard various sounds in this car, and I have a really hard time figuring out what direction the sound is really coming from. Helps to have someone else in the car who can move around to really pin down the location. Not saying the sound isn't where you said, just that I have been wrong a couple of times in this car.

Never heard that on mine either Pinker.. Is this coming from the inside or outside (behind the driver's seat)Inside: could be something loose under rear seat on in trunk. Make sure your rear cargo flat panel is "lock"... but look if your mother-in-law is not sleeping in before. Outside: check for loose hubcap plastic retaining bolts or wheel bolts, may be rear brake needs adjustment or your AWD system.By the way, welcome to Genvibe on your first post. Sounds like their might be a loose bolt somewhere...If a bolt is loose, as you take off, the initial jerk from the take off could cause whatever that bolt is holding down to jump, causing the popping noise.
