I just installed Hotchkiss sway bars on my Vibe and my steering wheel is off center. The wierd thing is the car still tracks pretty straight. Anyone else seen this? There didn't seem to be enough play in the subframe to throw the wheel off...
I've done 3 front sway bar installs, and it did not change the steering wheel centering at all. I loosened up the steering rack bolts so it would come off of the lower engine cradle when lowered, and left the "tie rods" attached, so there shouldn't be ANY change in toe/centering if everything was re-installed correctly. If that's the way you did yours, I can't think of much that would have changed the centering of your steering wheel.Like them bars?

The wheel doesn't jerk out of my hand, and the car tracks straight. I didn't pop my tie rod ends either. There's nearly any play in the cradle as you know having done three. As for performance, this was done along with ES bushings and the car's a different animal. These changes joined Eibach ProKit springs and a TRD STB. I'm glad I did this.
